WOW!! A great big THANK YOU to everyone who’s joined me here at JAX does design. I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate it! And I’m so touched by all of your wonderful comments :-) Blog buddies are the best! An extra thank you to Kat from Emptynester for being my very first commenter, and to Caleigh for sending me pics of her pug, Louie, to add to my Furry Friends page. You have to check him out, he’s adorable!
Hmmm… so I guess I’m going to have to write something for you to read! ;-) OK, how about this – mirrors.

Mirrors add sparkle to a room. They can make a smaller room appear larger. When a mirror reflects a window, it helps bring more light into the room. Wherever you hang a mirror, make sure it reflects something beautiful…

I absolutely love the look of layered mirrors. They’re so glam, and there’s a depth to them that you don’t get with one mirror. This layered bathroom mirror is especially beautiful, because there’s also a sconce installed on the mirror – upping the look from glam to super-glam!

An ornate gold mirror looks great layered on top of a modern mirrored chimney breast.

Here’s another gold mirror layered with a large white mirror.

And how freaky is this – here’s the exact same mirror layered against two simple white mirrors. (Hmmmm… even the vase on the mantel is the same in both pictures.) The sleek black mantel and zebra print ottoman give this room a modern feel.

How sexy is this room with layered mirrors – even the mantel is mirrored!

Here’s an oval mirror layered on a rectangular mirror. Do you see the triangle created by the stools, lamps, and gold mirror? I think the triangle helps carry your eye right from the floor to the top of the mirror, and it lets you take in all the pretty elements in this vignette.

Here’s a super-ornate mirror layered on top of a simple mirror. Don’t you love the effect it creates? :-)

Oooh-la-la, this turquoise mirror is hot!

More layered mirrors in the bathroom – maybe his & hers?

I posted this picture from Carter & Company on DesignTies recently. It’s so beautiful, I have to include it here!

Another way to layer mirrors is by leaning them against each other. This has a more casual look and feel. And it’s a lot easier than hanging them!

Layer leaning mirrors on the floor – why not?!

How about this for a sweet look – mirrors hung in front of windows. This is the room that got me hooked on this look. It’s Patricia Gray’s bathroom, and it’s beautiful!

I think I love the concrete vanity in this bathroom as much as the mirror!

This one is quite charming :-)

Heheheh! These mirrors look like eyes! OMG, is it just me, or do the mirrors and vanity look like a frog face?!

The round mirror helps soften all the square lines in this bathroom.

And finally, you can’t have a make-up vanity without a mirror!

(Karen at Ocean Soul left a comment mentioning the mirrors in the bathroom in the Coastal Living Ultimate Beach House. Thanks Karen – here they are!)

Hubby and I did a little project on the weekend inspired by my love for layered mirrors. I’ll be posting about it on Monday, along with instructions on how a professional creates this look and how we did it. It sometimes helps to have an uber-analytical hubby!
So what do you think – would you incorporate layered mirrors into your home?
