An artful weekend

This weekend, I’m taking an art class being taught by my friend and artist Susan Bailie. I’ve shown you some of her paintings before…

I’m so excited that this weekend, I’m going to learn how to create my very own foil painting! Susan asked each person taking the class to each come up with an idea or concept for our paintings. I’m planning to do a little something like this…

And if I have time {which is highly unlikely, but hey, why not dream big?!} I’ve got another art project in mind using a bit of this and this…

Thanks Victoria at The FAT Paint Company for the sample can of paint, and to Kelly at The Lily Pad Cottage for the blueprint art inspiration :-)

I’m also in the middle of another PARA Paints Blog Crew project for my craft room using these colours:

And just because I like to go totally overboard, I’ve got another art project in mind that looks a little something like this:

Luckily my weekends are four days long, so that gives me two extra days to get it all done! But there’s something else happening this weekend that could throw all these plans out window… I’m going to keep it a secret for now so I don’t jinx it. But if things work out, you’ll find out all about it on Monday :-)

Happy weekend!

  3. That button covered A is fantastic . We are having a Christmas cake baking work shop here today so our project is a little different to yours also it is 32 degrees C with a hot wind - bad day to have the oven on for 4 hours !!

  4. I've been taking an art class too but am quite disappointed in the instructor so am muddling along mostly on my own. I plan to take another art course (too bad this one's a waste of money) because it's something I really want to learn to do. I LOVE your chosen concept of fireworks! And all your other projects look wonderful too -- and full of gorgeous colour! Have a great weekend and I'll have to check in on Monday to see what's up! I've been blogging like crazy so now I need to back off and get some work done around here :) (Diane Jarvis-Schuller)

  5. How reassuring to know that others have extensive projects-I-want-to-do lists. They say that sharing your goals with others helps you achieve them because of the accountability factor. But unlike you, I would not be brave enough to blog about my project list. I mean, I'd have to tackle them!

Also, I might add your button art and foil painting to my list!

I am loving those craft room colors.

  6. Lots on the go, Kelly! I am missing my project time - between moving my vehicle back into the garage for the winter, and just a crazy bunch of commitments for the next bit, my fingers are twitching to DIY something, and I'm dying to pick up a brush again! I hope your course has gone well, and that there has been no jinx on the secret! I really want to know what the secret is!!!
