PEI love!

I also my new macro lens. Which I literally bought half an hour before we left on our trip to PEI a couple of weeks ago. {Thanks Danielle Lynn Bernier for the lens recommendation and to Henry’s for the AMAZING customer service!} I really wanted a macro lens so I could take close-ups of shells & rocks on the beach. Like these…

And these pretty beach sweet peas…

I started every day in PEI with a walk on the beach, which was at our front door…

I found lots of pretty beach glass. The green piece on the right was literally carried right to my feet on a wave!

Of course, we ate LOTS of seafood, even for breakfast! My PEI spin on scrambled eggs – cheese, back bacon, and scallops & lobster from the Acadian Fishermen’s Co-op a couple of kilometers up the road from where we were staying.

The dogs had a great time playing in the water!

And I have to show you these awesome shoes I bought at the outlet mall in New Hampshire on our way to PEI. Purple plaid & silver - I absolutely could not NOT buy them!

So that’s where I was during  my blog hiatus. It’s hard getting back into the swing of things after an amazing vacation, but I’m back to my regularly scheduled blog posts & bog visits – at least till my next week off in August :-)

I’ll be announcing my Susan Bailie artwork winner tomorrow. You still have until midnight tonight to enter – don’t miss out on your chance to win Susan’s beautiful painting, Petit Puff 11. Click here for all the details…

I haven't been since I was a kid and don't really even remember it. Next time I am in Maine I should make a point to go back. Your pics are stunning!!

  15. Beautiful images Kelly. Isn't the colour of the sand in P.E.I. amazing?
So rich and vivid in colour, not to mention how clean 'n pure the ocean air is. Glad to hear you had a great time.

    1. I LOVE the red PEI sand! There are about 5 minutes during sunset when the light from the sun makes the red sand & rocks & cliffs positively glow - so amazing!

  16. Gorgeous pics! Looks like you had an amazing time. And lots of great inspiration for water paintings! We had a fabulous trip too, it seems you just can't go wrong in PEI. And we also brought 2 dogs - Nadia and I both brought our golden doodles. I think they even had a better time than we did, if that's possible. They both had a bout of post-holiday blues when they got back!
