Last Friday, I went to the Originals Craft Show here in Ottawa. FYI, the CE Centre or whatever they’re calling it now SUCKS. Anyway, I was drawn to the booth of artist Cori Lee Marvin. Her watercolours are so detailed and true-to-life, it’s hard to believe they’re paintings. I couldn’t stop looking at her sweet Pensive Penguin print, but ended up leaving him behind because I don’t really have a spot where I can hang him. Well, after thinking about him for a week, I just had to go back and buy him, and I’ll just need to find a spot for him :-) For now, he’s on my RAST chest in the front entry.
Isn’t he adorable?! Here are some more of Cori’s prints – they’re all so pretty and charming :-)
If you go to the craft show this weekend, check out Coris’s work at booth #506.
Happy weekend!

I can see why you couldn't forget the penguin. All these works you show have an unusual ability to draw you into them, either through subtle surprises or interesting details or some story to tell. Or all of the above! Thanks for introducing her to us.
ReplyDeleteThere's always a spot for art you love.
I love Cora's artwork. I have a beautiful little grasshopper on a sugar bowl that she mounted onto a marble tile in my kitchen at the cottage. It reminds me of my grandmother's house. Your penguin is adorable!
ReplyDeleteJust goes to show you Kelly, that if you love something enough you can and will always find a place for it!
ReplyDeleteWow! These prints are adorable! I love all of the art that you're always sharing!
