Our Catahoula Leopard Dog, Jackson, went missing this afternoon. My hubby brought him to Bruce Pit on Cedarview in Ottawa around noon, and he ran off with another dog and disappeared. We searched for him till 9:00 tonight with no luck.
He has a microchip and tags on his collar with our contact info. I know it’s a longshot, but maybe someone out there will find Jackson, see this blog post, and help us get him back. And if you could help spread the word and send some positive vibes this way, that would be great.
Jackson is an absolute sweetheart, and I cannot imagine not having him in our lives. I’m beyond heartbroken right, but I’m really trying to be positive.
Thanks,

ReplyDeleteOh no Kelly! I too will be sending good thoughts and pray that Jackson will be returned pronto. Please keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteThat is sad...
ReplyDeleteBut I'm still hoping you get Jackson back.

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous dog, I really hope you find Jackson soon. G
ReplyDeleteI'm not much help here in Toronto, but I am thinking about your sweet Jackson and hoping that he has made his way home by the time you read this.
ReplyDeletePositive thoughts!
Kelly, someone will pick him up and take him to the humane society. There are lots of great people who will realize he is lost and try and find you.
ReplyDeleteKeep us posted.
Don't worry, you'll find him :) I feel good about this.
ReplyDeleteOh no - keep us updated. Sending positive vibes. I'll post this on Facebook just in case it could help!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that Jackson is missing and I'm praying that he returns soon. Our Max went missing three days after we adopted him but he was found huddled in a barn full of hay days later and has been with us ever since. Jackson will come home, stay positive. Sending you big hugs.
ReplyDeleteKelly, it is Gloria from Catahoula Rescue. Any updates on Jackson? I"ll post him on our facebook site as many of our adopters walk at Bruce Pit. Have you contacted Animal Control? Do you need help putting up any posters?
ReplyDeleteKelly, I'm so sorry to hear about Jackson running off. I have a good feeling that you'll get him back.
ReplyDeleteI saw this on a friend's Facebook page and have reposted to my Dogs at Camp Facebook page, as well as the Ottawa Dog Blog facebook page. I know several others have reposted as well. We all hope you find Jackson! As dog lovers we all feel you loss. Good luck and please let us know if he is found.
ReplyDeletewe were at Bruce Pit around noon yesterday, and as we were starting on the trails, I heard a man asking if anyone had lost a dog, I turned around, but couldn't see who it was, or what the dog looked like (I think he said he found the dog in the parking lot). Have you been in touch with the organization operating the tents yesterday? Perhaps they have some more information, sorry I can't be of more help.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that your lovely dog is missing, I hope that you will have good news for your next posting. Our dog was missing for a week once, we phoned the SPCA, our local radio station, some local schools, handed out flyers and put an add in the local paper. The people who had him only purchased the weekend paper. The logical thing would be for someone to phone the SPCA.
ReplyDeleteThis was a posting on the Ottawa Dog Blog... you should join it in case there are any other leads... I know this was a while ago but it was a sighting at least.
ReplyDelete"A co-worker of mine saw him this morning at 6:30 on Moody Drive just passed Hunt Club. She just happened to mention a dog she saw on the side of the road and because of the location mentioned, I thought to show her the above picture. She confirmed it is the same dog."
Best of luck in finding Jackson. They are such an important part of a family
ReplyDeleteOh my Kelly - I feel horrible for you. I really hope he returns safe and sound. Thinking of you, family and Jackson -
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your four legger! I will send prayers your way for a quick return!
ReplyDeleteThat sucks! I hope you find him soon!
ReplyDeleteMarie
Oh gosh, good luck, what a beautiful dog.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this. I know what you are going through. I will be going to the pit today and will keep an eye out for him. If there is anything else I can do, please let me know.
ReplyDeleteI heard Jackson came home in the early hours of the morning! Fantastic news .. so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteCan you confirm yer lad is home?
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for your positive thoughts, prayers, support, and help in spreading the word about Jackson. We're thrilled and relieved that Jackson is back home, safe & sound and no worse for wear (with the exception of the after-effects of eating a porcupine - GROSS!)
ReplyDeleteHow about posting Jackson is home now and removing Jackson is missing from the page top??
ReplyDeleteGlad he's back.
